10 Best GEO Agencies in Australia for 2026: Compared

Short answer: The best GEO agencies in Australia in 2026 are GTMLab for businesses that want AI visibility tied to leads at a fixed monthly price, Luminary for enterprise and financial-services brands, StudioHawk and Prosperity Media for large brands that want an award-winning search team, Impressive for e-commerce and SaaS brands that measure ChatGPT leads, Third Hemisphere for brands where press coverage moves AI answers, Optimising and Webprofits for an SEO-first approach, and Bonfire and Digital Hitmen in Perth for published prices and no lock-in. When you choose a GEO agency in Australia, ask how it will measure what AI search is worth to you, because AI still sends a small share of visits even as most Australians use it.

How Australians use AI search

Most Australians use AI now. In a Telsyte survey in June 2026, 77% of Australians aged 16 and over said they use AI, and 12% said it's their main way to find information online, up from 5% a year earlier. Roy Morgan found 58% of Australians aged 14 and over used an AI tool in an average four weeks in early 2026: ChatGPT 45%, Gemini 21% and Copilot 17%. Fifth Quadrant found generative AI is now the first place 22% of Australians go to research health and 20% to compare prices.

But AI still sends few clicks. In September 2026, AI chatbots sent just 0.3% of referral traffic to Australian websites, against 88% from search engines (StatCounter). Of that AI traffic, ChatGPT sent 78.2%, Gemini 9.5%, Copilot 7.4%, Perplexity 3.2% and Claude 1.8%. Part of the reason is that the answer is often enough: in Telsyte's survey, half of Australians aware of AI summaries said they'd often rely on them without clicking through. That's why being named in the answer matters more than the click.

Google's AI answers are well established. Google handles 87.9% of searches in Australia, with Bing at 9.2%, higher than in most of Asia and worth watching because Bing powers Copilot. AI Overviews rolled out across Australia in October 2024, and AI Mode launched here in English in October 2025.

The Australian Consumer Law still applies. Treasury's review of AI and the Australian Consumer Law (October 2025) found the bans on misleading conduct and false representations apply regardless of the technology, and that a business can breach them without meaning to. A GEO agency in Australia shouldn't publish claims your business can't stand behind just because they're aimed at AI.

How we chose

Every AI search optimization agency on this list passed five tests:

  1. An Australian base, or a real reason to be here. An office in Australia serving Australian clients; GTMLab, the exception, serves Australian clients from Asia and says so below.
  2. A published GEO service. A dedicated page for GEO, AEO or AI search on the agency's own site, not a passing mention.
  3. A clear method. A process, framework or tool that explains how the work changes AI answers.
  4. Evidence. Named clients, published research, awards with years, case results or published prices.
  5. A distinct fit. Each agency suits a different kind of business, so the list covers enterprise to small business and Sydney to Perth.

Every fact about the other nine agencies comes from their own websites, checked on 13 October 2026. Results and claims are their own.

1. GTMLab

Best for: Australian lead-generation businesses, such as clinics, property, hospitality and B2B services, that want AI visibility measured in leads and revenue, with senior operators and a fixed monthly price.

GTMLab is a growth agency with teams in Jakarta, Hong Kong and New York, run by 100+ senior operators that include ex-founders, Y Combinator alumni and a Forbes 30 Under 30 honoree. It has worked with 200+ brands and operated $20M+ in ad spend. It has no Australian office: its Jakarta and Hong Kong teams work two to four hours behind Sydney, so their days overlap most of yours.

Its AI search optimization service runs on daily decisions rather than a fixed content quota. Each day the team checks what changed for a client's buyer prompts, picks the few tasks that drive most of the result, does them wherever AI engines read about the brand, and logs each one with the reason behind it.

What sets it apart

  • Price: plans start at US$499 a month, a fraction of the A$3,000 to A$7,000+ a month one Australian agency quotes as the local market range.
  • Tied to leads: AI referrals are tracked in GA4 on every plan and in your CRM on Growth and Scale, so an enquiry from an AI answer can be followed to a booking or a deal.
  • Six engines tracked: ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Google's AI Overviews, Claude and Copilot, which matters in a market where Copilot sends more AI traffic than Perplexity.
  • One team across channels: the same operators run paid media, SEO, landing pages and CRM.

Proof: GTMLab built and runs search for medifly.ai, a medical travel platform. Between mid-June and late September 2026, its organic clicks grew about 4× and impressions about 5.6×, from complete pages for each of its 3,167 doctors and 299 hospitals. The case study is candid that there's no AI-citation data yet, so this is the search groundwork AI answers draw on. Its paid lead engines reached 5,000+ qualified leads in 10 weeks for IHH Healthcare's hospitals and grew high-value bookings 230% for a Hong Kong allied-health group, Central Wellness, without spending more.

Pricing and guarantee: Essential at US$499 a month (30 logged tasks, 40 prompts across 3 AI engines), Growth at US$999 (70 tasks, 90 prompts, 4 engines) and Scale at US$1,999 (140 tasks, 150 prompts, 5 engines, re-run daily). Plans start on a six-month term, then run month to month. GTMLab guarantees a number of prompts where you're named every quarter; miss it and you don't pay.

Less suited to: brands that want an agency in their own city, with in-person workshops or Australian media relationships. Luminary, Prosperity Media and Third Hemisphere fit that better.

2. Luminary

Best for: enterprise, financial-services and not-for-profit organizations whose website and content team need to change along with their AI visibility.

Luminary has offices in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and Jakarta, has been in business since 1999, has 85+ people and has been a B Corp since 2021. Its GEO service benchmarks by hand how accurately and favorably AI engines summarize a brand, tracks AI bot traffic and AI referrals, then delivers an audit and roadmap, implementation and content workshops, led by its SEO and GEO Principal, Shayna Burns.

  • Partnerships: it works with the AI visibility platforms Profound, Scrunch, AthenaHQ and Searchable.
  • Results it reports: for IFM Investors, a 36% share of AI visibility in Australia across 168 prompts and seven AI models, work that won "Most Transformative Agency Partnership" at London's Financial Services Forum in September 2026.
  • Other clients it names: Cancer Council Australia and Beyond Blue.
  • Pricing: not published.

3. StudioHawk

Best for: consumer and e-commerce brands that want a large specialist SEO team.

StudioHawk was founded in 2015 by Harry Sanders and has 120+ specialists, with offices in Melbourne and Sydney and teams in London and Atlanta. Its AI SEO work runs in four steps (Foundation First, AI-Friendly Optimisation, Authority Building and Visibility Tracking), covering prompt research, entity clusters, schema and Bing indexing for ChatGPT visibility. AI SEO sits inside its SEO work rather than being sold on its own.

  • Awards it lists: Best Large SEO Agency of the Year and six other awards at the APAC Search Awards (2026).
  • Worth knowing: in-house tools that track visibility in AI models, a published AI search whitepaper, and no lock-in contracts. Client logos include Officeworks, Petstock, Kogan and The Good Guys.
  • Pricing: not published.

4. Prosperity Media

Best for: mid-market and enterprise brands that want GEO driven by digital PR.

Prosperity Media was founded in 2012 by James Norquay and has offices in Sydney and Melbourne and a team of 31. Its four-step GEO blueprint runs from a brand audit through technical GEO and "RAG optimisation", with a 56-point audit, to digital PR that earns citations and reporting on visibility and sentiment in AI models, across Google's AI Overviews, ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Claude. It says to expect results in three to six months.

  • Awards it lists: Best Large SEO Agency in APAC at the APAC Search Awards (2025), plus two 2026 APAC awards with its clients Somerzby and Bondi Meal Prep.
  • Worth knowing: it runs the Sydney SEO Conference and more than 30 test websites for SEO experiments.
  • Pricing: not published.

5. Impressive

Best for: mid-market e-commerce and SaaS brands that measure GEO in ChatGPT traffic and leads.

Impressive was founded in 2016 and has 100+ staff, with offices in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and Austin, Texas. Its AI SEO service rests on six pillars, including an audit of how AI models describe a brand, prompt research, FAQs written to be cited, and outreach to earn mentions on other sites, led by Digital Director Rachel Harvey.

  • Results it reports: for Podium, ChatGPT traffic up 193% and leads attributed to ChatGPT up 25%; for Kudosity, ChatGPT traffic up 95%.
  • Pricing: none of its own published; its FAQ puts the Australian market at A$3,000 to A$7,000+ a month.

6. Third Hemisphere

Best for: fintech, climate, venture-capital and B2B brands, where press coverage moves AI answers.

Third Hemisphere is a PR agency and B Corp with offices in Sydney, Melbourne and Singapore and 150+ clients. Its GEO work starts with a "CRISP" diagnostic that asks five AI engines 166 buyer questions and scores the answers on Consensus, Reputation, Influence, Source and Presence. It then fixes entity and data errors, earns coverage in the outlets the engines cite, and re-audits every quarter, saying a lasting presence takes six to 12 months.

  • Track record: 20,000+ media placements since 2015, it says, with AI visibility case studies for Fremantle Seaweed, NeonNow and an unnamed ASX-listed lender.
  • Pricing: the diagnostic has a fixed fee, not published.

7. Optimising

Best for: e-commerce, tourism and purpose-led brands that want an SEO-first audit.

Optimising is based in Richmond, Melbourne, was founded in 2008, and is a B Corp and a member of 1% for the Planet. Its AI search optimisation audits visibility across ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Google's AI Mode, then runs campaigns on entities, content structured to be cited, schema and digital PR, with monthly share-of-voice reports. It says plainly that it won't guarantee AI visibility.

  • Research: its Australian AI Traffic Study (November 2025) found AI sessions rose a median 1,200% year on year across 115 Australian sites.
  • Work it shows: an audit for Tourism WA covering 438 prompts on four AI platforms.
  • Pricing: not published.

8. Webprofits

Best for: lead-generation and e-commerce brands that want senior-led SEO and AEO, and can commit to a long program.

Webprofits is based in Sydney, was founded in 2006 and has around 50 people. Its answer engine optimization runs on a five-step framework (Identify, Analyse, Audit, Implement, Measure) in fortnightly cycles across ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Google's AI Overviews, with AI referrals tracked separately in GA4.

  • Worth knowing: it says every team has worked inside Claude Code since February 2026. In its Aussie Broadband case study, half of website leads came from organic search. It suits brands willing to commit to a strategy of 12 months or more.
  • Pricing: not published.

9. Bonfire

Best for: mid-market brands, especially in Western Australia, that want a published price and no lock-in.

Bonfire has offices in Perth and Melbourne and says it has 20+ years' experience. Its AI search optimisation runs in three stages: Discover (an audit of AI surfaces and entity mapping), Build (structured data and entity enrichment) and Measure (tracking in Google's AI Mode and AI Overviews, ChatGPT and Perplexity), reported through its own Insights Engine platform.

  • Awards it lists: AMI Agency of the Year and Campaign Brief WA Digital Agency of the Year (both 2025).
  • Work it shows: No Birds Car Rental cited in AI answers after page and schema work.
  • Pricing: published, from A$2,990 a month, with no fixed term and 30 days' notice.

10. Digital Hitmen

Best for: small and local businesses that want transparent pricing.

Digital Hitmen is based in Attadale, Perth, and was founded in 2016. Its GEO service covers content and entity work, authority building, listings on Google, Bing and Apple Maps, schema, AI tracking, and consulting for in-house teams.

  • Awards it lists: Best Use of AI in Content at the APAC Search Awards (2026), and Standout Use of AI at the Global Digital Excellence Awards (2025).
  • Results it reports: AI impressions up 84.8% for All Trades Cover between May and September 2026.
  • Pricing: published by monthly hours: A$1,900 (12 to 15 hours), A$3,800 (25 to 30 hours) or A$6,800 (50 to 60 hours), starting with a six-month sprint, then month to month.

How to choose a GEO agency in Australia

  • Enterprise, financial-services or not-for-profit organization: Luminary.
  • Large consumer or e-commerce brand that wants a big specialist team: StudioHawk or Prosperity Media.
  • E-commerce or SaaS brand that measures ChatGPT leads: Impressive.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a GEO agency in Australia cost?

Published Australian prices on this list start at A$1,900 a month (Digital Hitmen) and A$2,990 a month (Bonfire), and one agency puts the local market at A$3,000 to A$7,000+ a month. GTMLab, which serves Australian clients from Asia, starts at US$499 a month. Larger agencies quote per project.

Is AI search big in Australia yet?

In use, yes: 77% of Australians say they use AI, and 12% call it their main way to find information online (Telsyte, June 2026). In clicks, not yet: AI chatbots sent 0.3% of referral traffic to Australian websites in September 2026. Much of AI's influence happens in the answer itself, before anyone clicks.

Which AI assistants do Australians use?

ChatGPT leads, used by 45% of Australians aged 14 and over in an average four weeks, then Gemini at 21% and Copilot at 17% (Roy Morgan, early 2026). ChatGPT also sends 78% of AI chatbot referrals to Australian websites. Google's AI Overviews and AI Mode reach anyone who searches on Google, which is nearly 88% of searches.

Does the Australian Consumer Law apply to AI search?

Yes. Treasury's 2025 review found the bans on misleading conduct apply regardless of technology, and a business can breach them without intending to. Anything a generative engine optimization agency publishes for you, on your site or elsewhere, should be accurate and something you can back up.

Do I need a GEO agency in my own city?

Not for the work itself, which happens online. A local agency helps if you want in-person workshops, local media relationships or an agency your team can visit. If price, senior attention and lead tracking matter more, an agency in a nearby time zone can work just as well.

How long does GEO take to work?

Agencies here quote three to six months for first results (Prosperity Media), six to 12 months for a lasting presence (Third Hemisphere), and 12 months or more for a full program (Webprofits). Technical fixes and pages that answer key questions can show up sooner.

See where you stand first

Before you speak to any GEO marketing agency, see what AI says about your business today. GTMLab's AI visibility check asks ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Google's AI Overviews and Claude what a customer in your city would ask, then shows who they name instead of you, where they got their facts, what to fix first, and how fast your site loads on a phone. It takes about a minute, with no sign-up for the first read. Plans are on the pricing page.
